Finance Systems Lead, International
About the role
We are seeking a Finance Systems Lead to join our Finance Systems team at Anthropic, based in our Dublin office. Dublin is our main international finance hub, and in this role you will lead finance systems for our international entities, partnering closely with the US-based leads and product owners for accounting, revenue, tax, and treasury and strongly influencing the approach. You will find what local teams need, shape international priorities, and bring clear recommendations to those partners, while leading the people who build and support these solutions and keeping a single, consistent global platform.
This is a critical role that will directly shape how Anthropic's finance organization operates as we expand internationally and scale toward public company readiness. You will work at the intersection of finance domain expertise and technical implementation, partnering with local Finance and Accounting teams, implementation partners, engineering teams, and the wider Finance Systems team to build a world-class financial systems foundation across our global footprint.
In this role, you will:
International Finance Systems Leadership: Lead the international finance systems agenda for the Dublin finance hub and other international teams (including EMEA and APAC), finding the problems worth solving without waiting to be asked and partnering closely with the product owners for each finance area, with strong influence on the approach.
Vision, Strategy & Roadmap: Shape the international vision and strategy with business owners and US product owners, map process maturity, and turn goals into a rank-ordered international roadmap that aligns with each domain's roadmap.
Business Partnership: Build trusted relationships with local finance, accounting, tax, and treasury leaders, and work closely with the US-based leads and product owners to agree the approach.
Systems Design: Shape international design decisions with the relevant product owners, build for patterns rather than one-off scenarios, and align with global owners on anything that changes the shared platform.
Delivery Across the Landscape: Drive delivery of international priorities with the relevant product owners, including multi-book and secondary ledgers, statutory reporting, intercompany, assets and leases, and local requirements such as VAT, e-invoicing mandates, and international payment formats (e.g. SEPA / ISO 20022).
Leading Through Others: Lead business systems analysts, contractors, and implementation partners across time zones, coaching them and reviewing their designs and configuration.
Operational Health: Make sure international users are supported through month end and quarter end close, with clear ownership of issues and of work handed over from the US time zone.
Scaling & Automation: Plan how our systems scale as we enter new countries, identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation, including with AI tooling.
Minimum Requirements
Have 10+ years of experience in finance systems, ERP implementation, or finance transformation, with at least 3 years as the accountable lead for a program or region
Have led a multi-country ERP or finance systems program from requirements through go-live and into operation, as the owner rather than a workstream member
Have worked in multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-GAAP environments, including statutory reporting
Have working depth across at least three of Record to Report, order to cash and revenue, Procure to Pay, tax, and treasury
Possess a strong understanding of financial accounting under US GAAP and IFRS, including general ledger, consolidation, intercompany, and local statutory reporting
Have strong systems design judgment: you build for patterns, know what good architecture looks like, and can read and challenge configuration
Find the work yourself: you have started programs nobody assigned, set a roadmap with little direction, and brought clear options to senior finance leaders
Have led business systems analysts, consultants, and implementation partners across time zones, and partner well with controllers and with tax and treasury leaders
Are comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving requirements and tight timelines
Preferred Requirements
Deep Workday Financials experience (comparable depth in Oracle Cloud or SAP S/4HANA is also welcome)
Product practice such as PRDs, goals and success criteria, and rank-ordered roadmaps
An accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
Experience with Workday Business Assets and lease accounting under IFRS 16 / ASC 842
Experience with Workday Accounting Center or Prism Analytics for journal automation and subledger accounting
Experience with VAT, e-invoicing mandates, or international payment formats and banking integrations (e.g. SEPA, ISO 20022)
Experience supporting Workday Procure to Pay functional areas, including Procurement, Supplier Accounts, and Banking and Settlement
Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal controls for financial systems, including multi-country environments
Experience supporting entity setup or expansion into new countries
Technical proficiency with SQL, Python, or Workday reporting tools for data analysis and integration support
Big 4 or Workday partner implementation experience, or prior experience at high-growth technology companies scaling toward IPO readiness
